Small salt fired cat butt mugs. Great for smaller hands a cozy cup of hot tea.
The 7oz (3.5" tall) cat's tail curls into the top.
The 8oz (3.5" tall) tan and reddish-brown cat is a boy.
The 8oz (3.5" tall) boy's white glaze sparkles like snow due to the salt fire process.
The taller 8oz+ (4" tall) boy is the only Soda fired piece in this grouping. The grey in the glaze is caused by carbon trapping.
The 9oz (4.5" tall) cat is also a boy.

Salt fire glazing is a ceramics technique where pottery is fired with the addition of salt. Likewise, soda firing adds baking soda rather than salt. These processes creates unique, unpredictable surface effects, including varied colors, textures, and a glossy finish, resulting in distinctive and artistic pieces. My Salt fired pieces were fired in a wood burning kiln, while the Soda fired pieces were in a gas kiln. As these glaze processes cost more to do, the pieces are priced slightly higher than normally fired pieces.

The "circles" on the bottom of the paws are from the wadding used to keep the piece from fusing to the kiln shelf due to the salt glaze.
